#19 - Classmate Blog Critique
Taylor Rich
As a Mass Communication major at Southern Arkansas University, I am often inspired by my classmate's professionalism and quality in all of their assignments. I enjoy reading what they post and find it rewarding to view the different writing styles and techniques used to get their points across. Throughout our classes together, I have always noticed the effort and talented writing put into the work of my friend and classmate, Taylor Rich. After seeing her blog post critiquing my website, I thought it fitting to critique hers as well.
Taylor uses a template that is easy to follow and has an appealing color scheme that I would refer to as "clean." I like this template because you can easily scroll through the blog posts, and it looks professional on a cell phone. I love how Taylor used a photo to commemorate the Christmas season. This gives her website not only its own personality but highlights hers also.
Just like you can see Taylor's personality in her website design, you can hear it in her writing. Throughout each of her blog posts, you can hear Taylor's voice coming through the screen. She has a perfect balance between sharing information and engaging with the reader. Her posts are very organized and read in a storylike manner. She also uses weblinks and images to her advantage. She is well versed in including images to match her story and includes her sources while also containing information through Instagram, Twitter, and other social media sights. You never feel as if you are missing a piece of the story, and you can see the professionalism in all of her work.
I look forward to seeing more of the work Taylor does in the future and witnessing the accomplishments she will make in the media. The same goes for each of my classmates as they continue their media careers. Not only do I enjoy looking at my classmate's work, but I always learn from them as I continue to improve my own writing style.
